Horse Update

Here's the Bug-Man! TreyTrey seems to have developed an allergy to bugs over the last couple of years, so he gets to wear a flysheet. We got him this Weatherbeata flysheet from Laurel Farm and Western Supply, and I must say I love it! It has a bellyband and neck cover, stays put on him, has the little rubber bands on the buckles to hold it tight, and yesterday when it was 90 degrees out, he wasn't sweating under it!
I realized as I was walking past my trailer to take pics of the horses, that I didn't get a pic of the trailer up when I got it last year because I wasn't being a very diligent blogger. So for those of you who haven't seen it, this is my new trailer that I had custom made last year. It's complete with electric jack (my requirement) and aluminum wheels (Paul's requirement). I'll get some more pics one of these days. It is made by Double R Trailers in Nampa, Idaho, and if you like it, talk to C.A.B. Trailers in Ferndale, they are the local dealer and great to deal with!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go to Http://www.StephanieStremlerPhotography.Blogspot.Com and see the pics of Gina's recent photoshoot! Thank you so much Stephanie for all your kind words and beautiful pics of Gina. She said to tell you sorry she kept trying to kill you. Actually that's a lie, Gina wouldn't apologize for that, so I am sorry she kept trying to kill you! :)

Fence is up!

Here is our temporary fence, until we tear it all out, fall a few more trees, build the barn and put in permanent paddocks. Paul cut down a bunch of little trees for some of the posts, they look cute! Too bad they aren't treated, so we will replace them when we build the barn, but for now they are great! Apparently I didn't get any pics of those ones though, sorry! Maybe later.

Horse Habitat Progress

T found this umbrella and kept calling it her umbarrow and then laughing hysterically. She carted it all around for a while. Here she and her Umbarrow are checking out the new driveway.
These logs will be beams for the barn.

Driveway and future lawn area leveled and ready for gravel.

The new gravel spread out. We traded a horse for this gravel, it has a lot cheaper upkeep!

Hunter follows me everywhere, so he ends up in a lot of these pics!

What we do when the kids nap!

Paul checking clearance around the exhaust on the Corona. (The Corona is going to the car show too, but it's almost done, just needs brakes!)

Removing the steering column in the '68.

Deadline Sept 19th for carshow

Here is our 68 Cadillac Calais. We have had it for about 3 years and have slowly been making progress on it. Only we decided we wanted to take it to the street deacons car show in Sept. We have a lot of work to do! Currently it runs, but does not drive, has no interior (we have the new interior, but the floor needs work first) and the whole thing clearly needs to be sanded and painted! This is the first car that Paul and I have done pretty much all the work together, so it has been really fun. We have high hopes of this becoming our family road trip car.

We ripped out all the interior, it was so gross!

These were taken with a camera phone sorry! Here's what the body looks like now.

Kinda looks like rainbow brite!

Wide open spaces...kinda.

We are making progress towards building the barn!!! Paul spent three days with an excavator last weekend clearing for where we are going to build the barn! We also cleared up by the house to make more driveway and parking space.
The view from in front of the house,

Before.
After!

The future barn site, paddocks will go back and to the left.

Yay for Hay!!!

Well, I think we have enough hay to last through the winter. We got 194 bales off a field last week, and got it put up in the barn. I love seeing trucks working ( I know, I'm a hillbilly) so I thought I would let you share in the joy. This beautiful Ford is my Mom's truck Georgie P. Green. It reminds me so much of the truck I drove when I first got my license, only mine was blue. Can you picture this in the Lynden Christian parking lot?

Winthrop '09

Here are some pics from our annual trip to Winthrop. It was a bit hard because T was so excited to do everything! She was either upset because she wanted to do something RIGHT NOW, or upset because we had to leave. But in between she had a ton of fun! Jelly was an "angel", she was too little to even realize we had left home.
The bridge at Newhalem, getting some exercise after lunch.
Our newest In The Weeds truck, somewhere along Hwy 20.

T at the playground by the big red barn.

Me and Jelly hanging out at the resort watching T play in the sand on the volleyball court. We stayed at WolfRidge Resort this year.

T in a tree! This was along the walking trail in Newhalem.
